q Alex Robbins became the 60th official Chudleigh Carnival Queen on Saturday – the town's diamond jubilee queen.

The 17-year-old student was crowned in Chudleigh Town Hall by Pirates of the Caribbean look-a-like Jacko Sparro.

Her princesses are 13-year-old Libby Rothwell and 14-year-old Georgia Abbot-Palmer, who were attendants in 2008.

This year's attendants – sisters Bethany and Chloe Martin – were on holiday and missed Saturday's event.
