THE demolition of a disused changing room as part of the Bakers Park redevelopment and two new pallet stores on the Brunel Industrial estate are among the latest planning applications submitted across Teignbridge.
Every week dozens of planning applications are submitted to the local councils, and the coronavirus pandemic has not changed that.
This page features the list of applications that have been submitted and validated by the various local councils or planning authorities in the last week.
? An application has gone in for the demolition of a disused changing rooms, kiosk and public toilets as part of the Bakers Park redevelopment at Len Coldwell Pavilion, in Bakers Park, Totnes Road, Newton Abbot.
The application has been made by Teignbridge District Council which notes in its application form: ‘The Len Coldwell Pavilion is used as football changing rooms and are in poor condition
‘The former public toilets and booking office are in a dilapidated state and boarded up.
‘The demolition needs to take place because a new pavilion has been constructed and the other two buildings are dilapidated condition.’
? Another application seeks consent for the creation of a wider access for the Dingley Dell residential property, together with a suitable access into the land owned by the Teign Corinthian Yacht Club.
The site is to the north east of the railway bridge by the Yacht Club on Teignmouth Seafront. This application is on an area of land to the east of the access driveway/PROW, which is currently unusable land owned by the Yacht Club.
There is a rubble stone wall with places collapsed and unstable from ground to the rear pushing it outwards.
‘This is making the access extremely narrow, with poor emergency vehicle access to any point of the lane above TCYC land,’ say the applicants.
The access will be gained to the Dingley Dell property via the surfaced access road. Access to the TCYC land will be via the new access.
? Harrier LLC have applied for permission to new build storage units and associated external hard works on their site at Brunel Road Industrial Estate in Newton Abbot.
In its design and access statement the company says the proposal is for the construction of two new build pallet storage buildings, replacing the current approved structure and hard standing areas on the eastern and northern boundaries.
The application also seeks the approval for external works involving the onsite highway route around the site, creating a one-way system through the site, upgrading the wayfinding for pedestrians and relocating car parking spaces. There is an upgrade to the existing secure entrance gate off Brunel Road and boundary security fencing replacement.
