WORK starts on Monday on a new play park in Chudleigh – the first stage of a project costing nearly £300,000 to provide youngsters in the town with the latest sport, leisure and play facilities.
The old play park off Fore Street, on land owned by Chudleigh United Charities behind the parish church, is being replaced at a cost of £106,000, work which is expected to take four weeks to complete.
To be built adjacent is a multi-use games area. That is costing £75,000 and, while there is no definite start date, it is intended to be in use by the end of March.
