DENBURY Village Green will be invaded by stormtroopers and other Star Wars characters on Monday as the village’s traditional May Fair gets under way.

This year the Star Wars-themed fancy dress procession will leave the village’s school at 11.45am and will be headed by the Dart Valley Stompers.

There is lots for everyone to see and do – from maypole dancers to a fun dog show, classic car show to the Torbay Owls.

There will also be the crowning of the May king and queen.

All of the money raised will go to Denbury community groups.

Emma Twamley, chairman of the May fair team, said: ‘Denbury is a unique community and its fair is truly one of Devon’s little gems.

‘Each year more people come to share and enjoy this traditional event and relish the wonderful atmosphere and setting.’
