With hopefully the last potential 'banana skin' out of the way Newton Abbot are now looking like genuine play-off contenders, and while they did not have it all their own way at St Mary's, they put the home side away comfortably in the second half.
With St Ives critically losing at home to Taunton, it means the pressure is off.
The All Whites have two home games remaining, one against the aforementioned St Ives and the other against local rivals Brixham, plus an away game at lowly Walcot Old Boys.
Avonmouth Old Boys are still chasing, but it is certainly looking as if the All Whites will get their just rewards this term and a crack at going up.
Coach Phil Burford does not shy away from the issue as some might do, instead talking up the club's ambition and maintaining that as soon as you lose the hunger you stop improving.
The game at St Mary's was played in a strong wind, and was literally a tale of two halves.
The All Whites took the lead through Alex Lloyd, followed soon after by a try by man of the match Paul Warren, so often the unsung hero of the side.
Mike Saxton slotted the conversion after missing his first effort to make the score 12-0.
St Mary's then capitalised on sloppy defensive work by the All Whites, scoring tries through full back Ramwell and speedy winger Ian Broughton, with one conversion going over, before a penalty from Ramwell took St Mary's in at the break 15-12 ahead.
But somehow you knew it was only a matter of time before the All Whites went through the gears and blew the Bristol side away.
Five unanswered tries in the second half muted the St Mary's faithful.
Holt scored first before Alex Lloyd kept up his impressive record since signing from Bridgwater and Albion to grab a brace on the day.
Alex Moore steamed in with a couple of his own, while Saxton steadily picked up five conversions to show that he has matured well since breaking into the squad at the beginning of the season.
Tomorrow sees the All Whites back at Rackerhayes hosting Barnstaple in the semi-final of the Devon Cup.
This promises to be a cracker, as Barnstaple have had the edge when the two clubs have met in recent times, but it is high time the All Whites laid the bogey and they are a very different proposition this season.
Supporters are urged to go along and combat the large contingent expected down from north Devon.
Kick-off is 2pm.
