THE wheels came off the All Whites chariot at Sidmouth, as they came up short against Seasiders who recorded a much needed win and enjoyed the spoils of this south Devon derby match.

The frustrated Rackerhayes outfit were left wondering how the game got away.

The game started brightly enough for the All Whites, playing good phase rugby for the first ten minutes.

Full back Hewitt enjoyed a good day with the boot, kicking five penalties in total.

Concentration being a big factor at this level, Sidmouth were able to punish the only mistake from the normally watertight midfield defence – Nick Holt uncharacteristically missing a tackle which allowed centre Chesterton to sneak in for a score.

Summarising the game it was a case of Sidmouth racing into a 16–6 lead at one point in the first half, and the All Whites then steadfastly chipped away at it, increasingly frustrated at not being able to break down the home defence.

Going into the last ten minutes with the score at 19 – 15 the All Whites camped on the Sidmouth five metre line.

Time and time again they tried to get over for the five points which would effectively have won the game.

Cane, Buford and Boles all went close for the away side but they were frustratingly held up on the line.

Tomorrow the All Whites entertain Brixham, kick off at Rackerhayes is 2:30pm.
