POLICE are investigating a hit and run accident in Kingsteignton which damaged a brick pillar and gate.

Owners of the property in Whiteway Road are now appealing to the driver to go to the police after the incident, which happened early on Tuesday.

Householder Maggie Goldthorp described how a blue metallic Renault Megane tried to reverse at the top of Whiteway Road but accelerated and slammed into a bollard, which flew into the air.
