Shaldon councillors have passed a vote of no confidence in Teignbridge Council planners.
They are disillusioned and angry after an officer recommended approval of two controversial housing schemes in the village, contrary to local policies and 'ignoring' the views of most residents.
The final decision rests with the elected district council members at the development control meeting on Monday, and if they do not throw it out, the chairman of the parish council planning sub-committee, Cllr Tony Ryan, says he will quit in disgust. He has asked to speak at the meeting.
