A SUMMER scheme to encourage more people to explore Dartmoor has been declared a resounding success by the national park authority.
It has been heartened by the ‘brilliant’ response from the public to the Moor Otters Trail which features 101 of the individually painted creatures at selected sites across the district.
A spokesman said this week: ‘We’ve been staggered with the way the public has responded to the project. People really have taken to it.
‘Among those who have been hooked by the venture has been ace otter spotter Arlene Rowe, 73, from Ashburton who has tracked down all 101 otters dotted over the moor and beyond.
