J A BARTLETT, of Manor Road, Bishopsteignton, writes:

Since moving here nearly ten years ago I have been made aware of the strong bias shown by Teignbridge against the people of Teignmouth and its council.

This is exemplified by the near juxtaposition of two articles in last week's paper about the proposed skatepark in Teignmouth and the one at Decoy Park, Newton Abbot.

The first stated that the cost of the proposed one on the site of the old paddling pool (owned by whom?) on the Den would have to be raised by 'the youngsters in the town from events and sponsorship'. We are apparently talking here of £50,000 - £100,000.

The second article mentions the funding of the Decoy Park facilities costing £200,000. It includes National Lottery funding, the county council, local organisations, businesses and £50,000 from Teignbridge Council. No mention here of the youngsters having to raise a penny!
