A CACOPHONY of spring colours greeted visitors to Ashburton Town Hall last Saturday as green-fingered gardeners put on a show to banish any lingering late-winter blues.
Providing the kaleidoscope of colour was Ashburton and District Garden Association who were holding their first Spring Show after a Covid-enforced break of two years.
‘It’s great to be back after such a long time,’ said the Association’s chairman Mike Harvey.
‘A lot of work is involved putting show like this together but when you see the standard of entries as it all comes together it’s all worthwhile.’
The show featured 240 exhibits ranging from traditional spring blooms, plants floral displays and home-made bakes and preserves to a children’s section that included pirate masks, magic wands and Easter biscuits.
The next for for your horticultural diaries in August 20 whe the association will be holding their summer show.
