A NEWTON Abbot man was placed on a community order for assaulting another man and damaging his window.
Daniel Stephen Russell, aged 33, of Tudor Road, admitted assaulting Michael Ginley by beating in Torquay.
He also admitted causing £5,000 damage to his victim’s window in Torquay.
He further admitted he had cannabis when he was at Torquay District Hospital.
South and West Devon Magistrates' Court placed him under a community order and a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement was applied meaning he must attend appointments or take part in a maximum of 15 days of activity.
A restraining order until January 3, 2024, was made not to contact the victim.
He was ordered to pay £85 costs and £114 to fund victim services.
The court ordered the cannabis be forfeited and destroyed.
