BUILDING homes on steep fields to the north of Teignmouth would mean 'people living on top of each other', developers were told.
A scheme to erect up to 250 dwellings alongside the Higher Exeter Road and above Raleigh Road, is being prepared, and the early proposals were outlined at a town council planning sub-committee meeting on Tuesday.
Residents were given the chance to question the developers, Halbarron Ltd.
Roger Lea, who lives nearby, declared that cramming that number of units into a difficult 10.5 hectare site would resemble battery cages.
