THERE was much to see and do in Newton Abbot on Saturday, May 27, not least a band a dancers in Market Square performing to spread the word of an upcoming world record attempt.

Newton Abbot Rugby Club is to host an official attempt at breaking the world record for the biggest group Hand Jive this Saturday, June 3.

The event, which has been organised by Sheila Austin, and is in association with Torbay Hospital Radio, is free and people are encouraged to come and join the attempt.

Gates open at 2.30pm, and the attempt will be made at 4pm. 

Also, there will much else besides the attempt itself: food, music and much more.
