TEIGNMOUTH and Shaldon are celebrating recognition of their top quality beaches.

Teignmouth town beach and Ness Cove at Shaldon have again won high-profile Seaside Awards, previously known as Quality Coast Awards.

They are two of four Teignbridge resorts and beaches which have met the high standards required to achieve the prestigious international awards.

And the announcements have come at the start of what tourism leaders hope will be a busy season and ahead of the bank holiday weekend.

Ness Cove and Teignmouth town have achieved the required standards every year since the scheme was launched in 2008.
