THE community of Bovey Tracey has been urged to create a bespoke library service for the town.

The move could consign to the history books any idea of a hushed, bookworm-only environment, replacing it with a vibrant arts-led activities space.

About 750 people use the Abbey Road facility each week, some 15 per cent of the population, proving it is already a hit.

Now it is one of 12 to have been selected by Devon County Council to take part in a year-long trial designed to put the people in charge.
