BUCKFASTLEIGH residents have 'put their money where there mouth is' and raised more than £4,500 to fight a waste processing plant at Whitecleave Quarry.
The cash came from an auction of promises on Saturday and will help fund the legal costs of this summer's appeal by MVV Environment Devonport against Devon County Council's refusal for a facility to recycle incinerator residue.
The firm has said the material, which would be generated at a Plymouth waste-to-energy plant and is known as incinerator bottom ash (IBA), is safe and could be used in the construction industry.
