The weekend saw the opening match of the Newton Abbot Fishing Association Club League held on Bradley Pond.
Winner on the day was Ricky Johnston on bonus peg 24, with 13kg 500g of mainly skimmers on waggler fished casters and maggots. Second was John Durham on peg 9 using the same tactics and bait for 8k 200g, and third was Jamie Pearce on peg 7 with 7kg 500g.
NAFA Juniors fished the latest round of the Teign Trophy Summer League on Weedy last week.
Winner was Howard Scott with 1kg 140g of roach and perch on pole and maggot. Second was Ashley Smith was a similar catch for 1kg, and third was Ben Avery with 510g.
On Dores Pond, Dominic Holmes had two carp, the biggest a 22lb fully scaled mirror. Tench continue to feed in First, Linhay and Island, which is also fishing well for silverfish on maggots.
Wheel Pond for nets of carp to 4lb on pole fished pellet or corn. Preston Ponds are all fishing well for skimmers and roach, with Sawmills and Eddison also producing odd carp to mid doubles. Wapperwell for mixed bags of carp, tench and skimmers on pole or waggler.
At Rocombe, Spring ponds are fishing well for carp to double figures on pellet, meat or corn, and Charlecombe for carp to 16lb on the same baits plus silvers on maggot or caster.
