THE Teignmouth in Bloom trail has now become a firm favourite with locals and visitors.
When the results are published in the Post, many people love to visit many of the gardens and admire the superb displays.
This year's results have just been announced, and the coordinator of the competition, Cllr Sylvia Russell, declared it was a 'blooming marvellous' year, with residents and businesses excelling themselves in creating stunning floral displays to delight locals and holidaymakers.
This year, two new trophies have been donated – by John Vaughan for the best rose, and Valerie Ayres for the best newcomer.
Mr Vaughan, a retired company director, wanted to see a new 'best rose' category, and Ms Ayres hoped her trophy would attract more entries.
The Rose Cup was won by Diane Dobson of Bligh Close, and the Best Newcomer was Derek Bush, of Rowdens House.
Once again, the stunning display at the Moorings guest house on the main road near Holcombe came out tops in its class, and also took the Masterclass Cup for Mike and Marilyn Waters.
