RESIDENTS at The Priory,
Abbotskerswell, drummed up
£1,500 when they took part in this
year’s National Garden Scheme.
On Saturday and Sunday more
than 200 people passed through
the gates to wander through the
gardens and bask in the sunshine.
People all over the country
opened up their gardens to the
public in a bid to raise money for
charity.
Guests at The Priory enjoyed
viewing a variety of flowers and
plants before taking a quick tea
break and browsing through a
plant sale.
Resident Aidan Addington said:
‘The gardens looked lovely and
everybody said it was a wonderful
afternoon.’
All of the money raised goes
back to the National Garden
Scheme which distributes it to a
range of charities including
Macmillan Cancer Support and
Marie Curie.
