THERE are just a few days left for people to tell the independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England where they think new council ward boundaries should be drawn across Teignbridge.
The commission is carrying out an electoral review of Teignbridge which means realign ward boundaries through the district.
The commission is asking people in the local authority area for their views on the new warding arrangements before it draws up its recommendations. The deadline is on Monday.
In April, the commission agreed Teignbridge should have 46 councillors in the future - the same as the current arrangements.
It is also drawing up ward boundaries which means each of the councillors represents a similar number of voters.
It’s hoped the new wards will reflect the interests and identities of local communities.
Commission chairman Professor Colin Mellors said this week: ‘We will consider every submission we receive from local people before we draw up draft recommendations.
‘We will then open another phase of consultation on those proposals in September.’
He urged people not to miss the chance of having their say on how their local council is run.
Send consultation responses to The Review Officer (Teignbridge), 14th floor, Millbank Tower, London, SW1P 4QP. Email reviews@ lgbce.org.uk
