THE streets around Bovey Tracey are looking a lot cleaner this week, and it wasn’t only down to the heavy rain giving them a bit of a sparkle.

Despite the terrible weather, the dedicated members of Plastic Free Bovey took part in the town’s clean up on Saturday.

The hardy group of volunteers were joined by firefighters and Cadets from Bovey Tracey Fire Station who braved the elements too.  Altogether around 30 people helped to collect a mountain of rubbish mostly from outlying streets, public spaces and wooded areas.

Organiser Sue Simmons said: ‘Thanks to Bovey Larder for hot drinks afterwards. And a big thank you to everyone who joined in.’
