A KINGSTEIGNTON mum of two, who is suffering from an inoperable brain tumour, is to marry her partner Paul Grimwood.

Sharon Parsons, aged 36, is tying the knot with Paul in St Michael's Parish Church, Kingsteignton, on Saturday November 1, and the family is delighted.

An incredibly brave lady, who has an eight-year-old daughter Jodi and Ruby who is three, Sharon became poorly with neck and back trouble and headaches, and just under a year ago was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

It was devastating news for the whole family and her many friends who have rallied around to see that some of her dreams for her children have come true.

One of those was to take the girls and Paul to Euro Disney, Paris, to have them filmed with her so that they would always treasure the memories.

Thanks to numerous fundraising events, particularly at the Abbrook Park Sports and Social Club, that dream was realised during the summer.

Last month there was a fun casino, disco, draw and entertainment, with £500 raised on the night for Sharon.

Sharon herself donated another £500 to her favourite charities – Cancer Research UK and the Rowcroft Hospice.

The family thanked everyone who had organised the fundraising events.

A Kingsteignton girl all her life, for several years Sharon worked at Teignmouth's Cliffden Hotel for the blind, before running her own dog walking and animal care business.

She loves animals and one of her hobbies was taking part in dog agility trials with her border collie Cap.

Sharon's sister Kate said the family was over the moon with the news that they were getting married.

'It is really nice and it is lovely for Sharon and all of us to have something to focus on. We are looking forward to having a lovely day,' said Kate.
