BRITAIN’S most active centenarian was ‘overwhelmed’ by the messages of congratulation on his 100th birthday this week.
Stan Bellman, of Bishopsteignton, still plays the piano and drives a car, and has so many relatives and friends he needed two birthday parties.
The first was at the Ilsington Country House Hotel, and the other at the Passage House Inn.
‘People came from all over the country, and even Australia. It was lovely to see them all and we had a great time.
‘I had dozens of cards, and telegrams from the Queen and the Work and Pensions Secretary Ian Duncan-Smith.
‘We continued partying back at my house – it has been going on all week really.
‘I could not have asked for a better celebration and, hopefully, I can go on a few more years yet.’
