KINGSTEIGNTON’S Post Office at Tesco Express has been given the stamp of approval for extra services and extended opening hours.

The Post Office is to upgrade it to a modern ‘main’ post office this Tuesday.

The new-style branch will have three full-screened counters and be open seven days a week, from 8am to 8pm – an additional 33 hours on top of its usual opening hours.

It’ll also offer more banking services including sending money abroad; hold a wider selection of travel money on demand; allow car tax renewals; as well as all delivery services.

Sue Whittall, of the Post Office, said: ‘We’re making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

‘We’re confident this vibrant new-style post office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.

‘This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.’

The branch closes for refurbishment tomorrow at 5.30pm for the work to be carried out. The modernised branch will open Friday, March 3 at 1pm.
