An Abbotskerswell man has shown his love for Monty Python and the musical Spamalot by changing his name by deed poll.

Window cleaner Michael Still, known to friends as Fred, made the decision after winning a competition to appear in the hit show Spamalot at the Princess Theatre, Torquay, this week.

He is now known as Michael George Fred Eric Idle John Cleese Michael Palin Terry Jones Graham Chapman Terry Gilliam Spamalot Still.

'I did this to show homage to my heroes,' he said.
