A buzzard that became trapped in barbed wire in an isolated spot near Kingskerswell on Boxing Day had a lucky escape when dog walker Paul Bright came along.
The wildlife lover and former environmental adviser to the bypass-sceptic group, Kingskerswell Alliance, realised the bird of prey was in trouble and set about securing its rescue.
'I took my golden Labradors Rufus and Rosie out for an afternoon walk and ended up in a remote spot between Kingskerswell and Edginswell,' he said.
