Steve Robertson, of Heathfield, cycled hundreds of miles across Normandy in five days last week to visit all five D-Day Landings beaches.
Throughout France and in this country there were special commemorative events and services leading up to Friday's 70th anniversary of the landings on June 6, 1944 – the invasion that eventually rid France of the German occupation and led to the end of the second world war.
Mr Robertson, a 59-year-old HGV training instructor who has his own company SRTS Ltd, of Exeter, set off from Cherbourg on Tuesday last week to visit Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword beaches.
