A SHALDON cafe bar has won a top national accolade.

The Bucket and Spade Cafe at Coast View Holiday Park is celebrating winning gold in the Best Restaurant and Best Pub categories and silver in the Best Bar category at the Food Drink Devon Awards earlier this month.

Josh Donald, managing director of Coast View Holiday Park, said: ‘We’re delighted with these awards.

‘It’s great to be recognised by our local community and for our staff to be rewarded for all of their hard work over the past few years.

‘We used to be Shaldon’s best kept secret, but so many locals and visitors in the area have now discovered us and seen what fantastic locally sourced food we offer with brilliant service.’

Devon’s food and drink scene was celebrated at the 10th Food Drink Devon Awards earlier this month.

More than 250 of the county’s finest food and drink producers, hospitality and catering businesses and speciality retailers celebrated in style at the awards ceremony, held at the Grade II listed New Continental Hotel, in Plymouth.

The ceremony was hosted by wine writer, presenter and broadcaster, Oz Clarke OBE.

The Bucket and Spade Cafe’s recently updated menu includes family favourites with the focus on locally-sourced produce and many vegan and gluten free options available.

Fresh and local fish dishes and West Country beef feature on the menu alongside light bites and healthy salads with their popular traditional Sunday lunch.
