COUNCILLORS in Teignbridge are lobbying for better standards for park homes.In response to a government inquiry about the management of park homes, Teignbridge Council is calling for major changes to regulations and laws affecting the site.The authority says existing laws are time-consuming, expensive and ineffective.It says key measures are missing, such as a full application process to be able to run the parks, a full range of enforcement options, the ability to turn down site licence applications, tighter controls on the reselling of homes, better protection for tenants renting mobile homes and measures to reduce fuel poverty. The district has 1,154 park homes across 54 sites, one of the highest proportions in the country, and has experience in having to enforce site conditions and improve conditions for residents.
