FOLLOWING the successful vigil for Ukraine last Saturday at the war memorial, Newton Crisis Aid is organising another Vigil for Ukraine on March 25 at 7pm.
The vigil will be held at St Leonard’s Clock Tower, Newton Abbot, and will be a candle-lit vigil; candles will be available to purchase at the time however those looking to attend are encouraged to bring their own.
The vigil is expected to last half an hour and is another opportunatiy to show solidarity with the people of Ukraine: it is also an opportunity to donate money to causes involved in helping refugees.
Teignbridge District Councillor Gordon Hook said:
‘It is hoped that Newton Abbot will again show its support for Ukrainian refugees and opposition to this grotesque Russian atrocity by standing together for a few minutes of unity and reflection.’
