A MOTORIST escaped unhurt when his car ended up in the central reservation of the A38 near the Splatford Split accident blackspot early today.

Police, paramedics and firefighters attended the scene just after 3am. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

The Exeter-bound carriageway was reported clear one-and-a-half hours later.

A police spokesman confirmed the driver of the Brixham-registered vehicle was not injured.
