IT’S ice cream all found for residents at a Bovey Tracey care home.
Residents, their families and staff at Mulberry House Care Home can now enjoy a treat with the opening of a new ice cream and coffee bar.
Mayor of Bovey Tracey Cllr Sheila Brooke was invited to carry out the official opening ceremony.
The bar has been created as a space where residents can enjoy coffee, tea, cakes and ice creams, while spending time with their family and friends.
The project has been a real team effort with the bar itself built by Mike Templeman from the maintenance team and Bryan Taylor, the groundskeeper.
It was furnished by manager Helen Hulme, with activity coordinators Beth Cox and Claire Felton helping to shop for items and prepare the space for its launch.
Beth and Claire will also be running the coffee bar throughout the day, giving residents the chance to pop in, relax and enjoy a treat.
Manager Helen said: ‘We were so pleased to welcome Sheila Brooke to officially open our new coffee bar, alongside residents Heath Dadd and Jenny Halford.
‘It has been a real team effort, and we are thrilled to see it already being enjoyed. It is a lovely new space for residents to meet with loved ones, enjoy a coffee and cake, and spend time together.’
Cllr Brooke said: ‘Helen and her team have worked hard to create somewhere warm, social and inviting at the heart of the home.
‘The coffee bar is another meaningful addition to life at Mulberry House, supporting connection, comfort and everyday enjoyment for residents.’
