PLANS to to radically alter a Kingsteignton care home will have to be revised after planners at Teignbridge Council rejected the scheme.
The multi-million pound revamp of the 22-bed Penns Mount, Vicarage Hill, has been the subject of discussion since late 2008.
It was announced then that the site could be redeveloped into a state-of-the-art centre offering 60 elderly people residential care, specialist dementia services, extra care flats and nursing.
But concerns about the design, particularly its size on the prominent hilltop, led to the application being withdrawn last April.
