THE Newton Abbot Carnival Committee's two nominated charities this year – Home-Start Teignbridge and the Multiple Sclerosis Society – were each presented with £300 on Monday.

The cheques were handed over at a presentation evening in the town hall by the mayor Cllr Louise Cooke.
