q CHUDLEIGH Carnival queen Alex Robbins is following in the footsteps of her sister Rebecca, who was queen in 2007.

The 16-year-old is the daughter of Chudleigh newsagents Tim and Dawn Robbins.

Alex is a student at Exeter College, where she is studying for A levels in drama, history and archaeology.

Her attendants are (left to right above with Alex) Bethany Martin (eight), Georgia Abbot-Palmer (14), Libby Rothwell (12) and Chloe Martin (nine).

Georgia and Libby were attendants on the carnival float in 2008.

After a break last year the carnival procession returns on Saturday, July 21, and, together with the fun run and a six-mile race, will be incorporated into Chudfest, which will run from July 13-22.
