Excitement is growing at Coombeshead College, Newton Abbot, as students involved in the Billy Elliot The Musical Youth Theatre production will be heading to the West End this weekend.

The college, which has been working with King Edward VI Community College (KEVICC) in Totnes on the project, entered a competition launched by Billy Youth Theatre to perform the musical.

Thousands of schools and youth groups produced a video clip of them acting out an excerpt from the show to try to gain the rights to perform the musical.
