A NUMBER of people appeared before South and West Devon Magistrates' Court for not paying their rail fares:
► Darius John Horn, aged 32, of Treeway, Chatteris, was fined £440 for travelling with Great Western Railway at Teignmouth without a ticket. He must pay compensation of £18.60, costs of £180 and £176 to fund victim services.
► Helen James, aged 46, of Woodwater Lane, Exeter, was fined £660, for travelling with Great Western Railway at Teignmouth without paying her fare. She must pay compensation of £80.30, costs of £180 and pay £264 to fund victim services.
► Wayne Allan Jeffrey, aged 54, of St Petrocks, Cathedral Yard, Exeter, was fined £440 , for travelling with Great Western Railway at Newton Abbot without paying his fare. He must pay compensation of £52.40, costs of £180 and pay £176 to fund victim services.
► Tilly Kelly, aged 20, of Harbour View Close, Brixham, was fined £440 for travelling with Great Western Railway at Newton Abbot without paying her fare. She must pay compensation of £9.55, £180 costs and £176 to fund victim services.
► Matthew Lane, aged 34, of Exeter Lane, Dawlish, was fined £440 for knowingly proceeding by train beyond the distance paid for. He must pay compensation of £8.90, costs of £180 and £176 to fund victim services.
