BATTLE lines are being drawn on a Newton Abbot business park through which it is planned to send traffic to the recycling centre.

Currently traffic going to the centre on the Brunel Industrial Estate enters and exits from Brunel Road around 50 yards from the entrance to Teignbridge Council's Forde House headquarters.

That often has long tailbacks of vehicles trying to get in.

The district authority, which owns the site which is run by Sita UK for the county, has applied to have that entrance purely for lorries collecting material from the transfer bulking station and, from September, those going to the recycling area would have a new access and exit.
