A popular South Devon bike festival is hoping to raise funds for next year’s event to take place.
Bikers Make a Difference (BMAD) has been running a festival on Paignton seafront since 2003. It recently announced that, due to increased costs and lack of sponsorship, next year’s event was cancelled.
After a huge response to the announcement organisers Kelvin and Jayne Halloran have set up a fundraising account. In just one day it’s raised more than £2,500 towards the £30,000 target.
BMAD is a non-profit organisation that supports disabled and disadvantaged children in the TQ area.
Kelvin said: ‘Unfortunately, due to the increase in costs and lack of sponsorship, with much regret it is impossible to hold the festival event 2019 without support.
‘Due to the overwhelming response we received, the BMAD team have set up a ‘go fund me’ page. If we do not reach our target all monies raised will go to our charity account.’
