Announced on Thursday, October 13, Jacksons Fish and Chips has been shortlisted in the ‘Restaurant of the Year’ catergory, beating out hundreds of other applicants in the National Fish & Chip Awards 2023.
The winner will be crowned at a ceremony, hosted by the The National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF), on February 28.
President of the National Federation of Fish Friers, Andrew Crook, said: ‘The National Fish & Chip Awards are such an important part of celebrating the fish and chip industry, whilst recognising the very best in Britain.
‘We’re delighted with the standard of applications this year and the Top 10 Restaurants of the Year really reflects the quality and hard-working nature of businesses in the UK.’
Jacksons Fish and Chips is a third generation family-run business committed to serving top quality fish and chips in both their take away and restaurant.
The chippie was taken over by Claire and Yann Quelvennec in 2004.
Claire said: ‘Since taking over the fish & chips shop in 2004, we have strived to improve and evolve.
‘Earlier this year we achieved the NFFF Quality Accreditation, placing us in the top 5% of fish and chip shops nationally.
‘And to have now got through to the top 10 fish and chip restaurants of the year in the NFFF Fish & Chip Awards makes us very proud.
‘But we wouldn’t be here without the support of all our loyal customers and hard working staff.’
Yann said: ‘We have always worked hard to maintain our high standards of producing quality fish & chips and providing excellent customer service so it’s rewarding to be recognised for this.’
Megane, Claire and Yann’s daughter, said: ‘I’m proud to be part of our family run business and see it flourish as it has during these difficult times.
‘Thanks go to our customers and staff who’ve helped us achieve this. ‘
