AN unusual Santa arrived at the Alice Cross Centre, Teignmouth, a week before Christmas.

While Teignmouth Bridge Club members were tucking into a festive lunch, Ann Pardoe, chairman of Shaldon Singers, turned up to hand over a cheque for £456, the retiring collection from the choir’s recent Christmas concert.

The cash will help the community centre continue with its pledge to help the over 50s to stay well by gaining companionship and low cost meals, activities and hobbies.
