The people of Kingsteignton have been called on to help fund the £300,000 restoration of their historic parish church, to think of it as more than a place in which to practice religion.
There has been a site of worship at St Michael's for 1,000 years, the present structure dates back in parts to the 13th century.
Time and the elements have taken their toll and the latest bill is estimated at £300,000.
