ST Mary the Virgin Parish Church, Denbury, was a splash of colour last weekend for a flower festival. The theme was Village Life, with all the various clubs and organisations in Denbury supporting the event with wonderful arrangements. Also on view was Denbury's millennium tapestry. The Rector, the Rev Ian Eglin, said it was a successful festival attracting many visitors. At the Sunday morning service, the preacher was the Archdeacon of Totnes, the Venerable John Rawlings. Proceeds from the festival are going to the project to develop and extend the church cottage into an amenity for the village, providing a small meeting place.
