FOR the first time the annual Chudleigh Citizen's Award to honour those who have undertaken outstanding voluntary work in the town, has been presented to two recipients.

Jillian Wood and Joan Prowse received the award from the mayor of Chudleigh Cllr Chris Webb at Friday's annual town meeting, held in the Woodway Room.

Every Thursday for 20 years, 69-year-old Ms Wood and 76-year-old Ms Prowse have raised money for the Chudleigh St John Ambulance by holding coffee mornings in the St John Ambulance Hall.
