INDIVIDUALS and groups have been recognised for their efforts in the community with awards from the mayor of Kingsteignton.

Now in its second year, the town council's citizenship awards acknowledge people in the town who have gone the extra mile to help their community.

Cllr Keith Howard handed out four awards tat the town council annual meeting held at the community hall in Rydon Road this week.
