CHUDLEIGH Sports Club is aiming to increase its social space, improve catering facilities and increase the area in front of the clubhouse, which it hopes to screen.

Those are the three priorities after the club was successful in obtaining £50,000 Sport England funding.

In a presentation to Chudleigh Town Council on Monday, the club's John Bryant said as well as attracting young people it wanted to encourage more adults into sport.

'We need to maximise use of facilities socially and the proposal is to increase the social area by 30 per cent.

'There was an element of people who would come to play and then go home and did not stay socially.<
