Coombeshead College, Newton Abbot, is celebrating after beating off more than 100 schools and drama groups across the country to perform at a special event in the West End this summer.

It has been selected to tread the boards at the Billy Youth Theatre West End Gala at the Victoria Palace Theatre, London, on July 18.

The college, which has teamed up with Keviccs at Totnes for the project, is one of only 14 groups to make it to the West End.

It will perform two excerpts from a shortened version of Billy Elliot the Musical which has been specially adapted for the Billy Youth Theatre.
