A NEW work training centre creating around ten full-time jobs and catering for 140 trainees, could soon open in Newton Abbot.
South Devon College has applied to Teignbridge Council for planning permission to change the use of Nam House, Unit 4A/B, Bradley Lane, from industrial to educational.
The centre would provide training in bricklaying, block-working, plastering and carpentry, in response, the college says, to demand. It is currently working with more than 800 businesses across Teignbridge.
Originally Nam House was occupied by Newton Motor Bodies vehicle body repairs workshop and had since been divided into two, with 14B previously the home of Aura Conservatories.
