Newton Abbot in Bloom Committee is aiming for a Silver gilt award from South West In Bloom judges.

They will judge the town on Monday, July 19 and will visit areas such as the allotments at Decoy, Bakers Park, Vicary's Park community garden, Courtenay Park, Bradley Barton Primary School and the town centre.

The competition is one of 18 regional heats that make up Britian in Bloom.

The town is now in the large towns category due to the growing population.
